At max Affinity, Driver arts get stronger, using the hit ratio, effect value, and cooldown of the level above (if the art is already at level 5, it will just gain a stronger hit ratio and faster cooldown).Įven though Drivers are bonded to the same Blade and uses the same weapons, for example Rex and Nia using Electra's Shield Hammer, they will have different Driver Arts. This is similar to the Art Points mechanic in Xenoblade Chronicles. Arts can individually be upgraded up to level 5, improving their damage and effect, and reducing the number of hits it takes for them to recharge. To upgrade Driver Arts, Drivers spend Weapon Points, which are earned by defeating enemies, on the "Enhance Arts" screen. Some are stronger against a certain type of enemy, and some become more effective if an enemy is hit from a certain direction. The effect of a Driver Art can be increased by fulfilling a specific criteria when unleashing the Art.
While most deal damage, some allow the user to shield themselves or heal the party. After having performed a certain number of Auto-Attacks in a row and building up their Arts, Drivers can unleash Arts as attacks. When you managed to fill up your entire burst gauge, you will perform a super powerful level 4 special attack and the chain attack is over.Driver Arts are special techniques that a Driver can use with a variety of effects.
The "dead monster" remains your target till your chain attack ends due to the fact that you are out of orb bursts or the burst gauge has completely filled up, that means you can continue and gain "extra turns" despite hitting on a dead body.
Don't worry, just because you overkilled it doesn't mean you can't keep hitting on the poor thing. You will receive a boost in experience and loot whenever this happens. You are able to "overkill" a monster with a chain attack (a pop up appears), and this is good. This way you are able to keep spamming one turn after another.
When you burst at least one orb in a turn, you will be rewarded with a QTE, if successful you will receive a bonus turn for the whole party. That means basically you aim for destroying as many orbs in a turn as possible because you want to fill up that burst gauge. 1 opposite element attack plus any other special attack are at least required to burst an orb.įor each orb you burst the burst gauge that replaces the party gauge in the top left is filled up a bit, it refills more effectively when you burst more than one orb in one turn. A special attack of the opposite element, however, does 2 damage instead of one. When using a chain attack the goal is to attack a monster that has immunity (elemental orbs) - the more the merrier!! These orbs have each 3 "life-points", that means you have to hit it three times with a special attack.
